Benjamin Franklin

I read The Autobiography of Benjamin Franklin which was written by Ben Franklin. He was born in 1706 in Boston. When he was young, he went to school to be a minister. However, he felt that he was interested in reading and writing. Then he started to work with his brother, but he fought with his brother and he moved to Philadelphia. In Philadelphia, he worked with Samuel Keimer about printing. During working, he also wrote some books. In addition, he was awarded honorary degrees from Harvard and Yale, and he became Postmaster General of America.

The Green Light

In the book The Great Gatsby, the author mentioned the word "green light" many times. It meant American dream, but we could see American dream's good parts and bad parts. For example, Gatsby was poor but he was rich later. However, he had not real friends. He got physical things like money, that would be a good part of American dream. In other hands, he never got good friends, that meant his mental part was poor. This one was example for bad part of American dream, so we could know that American dream did not succeed, Gatsby got his money, but he was not happy.
