Ch 8
In Chapter 8, Mr. Gatsby was murdered by Wilson. Wilson knew that the yellow car which hit Mrs. Wilson is Gatsby's. Then Wilson went to Gatsby, killed him, and he suicide. However, we could guess that Gatsby would die at the end, because we could see in chapter 1. In chapter 1, when Nick started the story, he said about Gatsby and 'Gatsby turned out all right at the end; it is what preyed on Gatsby, what foul dust floated in the wake of his dreams that temporarily closed out my interest in the abortive sorrows and short-winded elations of men' so we could guess.

I would have never thought to relate Gatsby's death back to the foreshadow presented in the first chapter like you did! It is true that by Nick saying that in the end, Gatsby turned out to be a pretty good guy, we could contemplate as to whether or not Gatsby's time would end in this novel, and it did. I also think that because Gatsby's relationship with Daisy started to disappear, Gatsby's life (that he had made to impress Daisy) started to fade as well because he sees no real reason to live.
From the first chapter to the end of the novel, there have been hints to suggest Gatsby's death and that is what happened.
Good answer, but explain that quote more. 1.5
